Eloping with Guests in Wine Country
Ahh, Paso Robles…One of the most beautiful coastal California cities that could never be the wrong choice for a romantic getaway. Especially if it’s for your elopement day
I say this because that's exactly where K & D chose to have their intimate ceremony last Winter and it was nothing short of amazing.
They also opted for a small guest list which made their celebration a cozy and intentional experience from start to end.
During our consultations, this sweet and fun couple let me know they’d be hosting their intimate wedding day at Rava Wines (@ravawinesweddings)—a stunning winery located on the outskirts of Paso Robles.
Even though K & D reside in Southern California, they shared with me that they make several trips to wine country for romantic and fun dates so it was a no-brainer that Paso Robles is a special place for them.

Planning a Paso Robles Elopement
K & D worked with their wedding planner and coordinator from A Perfect Day (@aperfectdayeventdesign) to help them get their vendors and their timeline put together.
Having a planner allowed them to focus on other aspects of their life while having a point of contact for all planning questions! Planners can also be a source of comfort knowing that they will have a back up plan in case of weather delays.
For example, on the day of K & D’s wedding, it rained.
The weather in Paso Robles changed from partially sunny to rainy and windy through the morning and as the sun moved towards the west, we would only see short peeks of sunrays amidst the dark clouds.
Now, if you thought I was about to say that the rain changed their wedding plans, let me tell you it didn’t!
The rain made it all the more beautiful than I can describe in words.
As K & D shared their vows, a rainbow appeared to the east—it was at that exact moment when we realized that dancing in the rain couldn’t have been any more magical! I’m grateful that I witnessed the love, happiness, and togetherness amongst their closest family and friends.
To capture this Paso Robles intimate wedding was a dream and I’d love to share a few highlights for you to use as inspiration to elope in Paso Robles.
The list of Paso Robles vendors that helped make this day a magical reality is located below these images!

Reasons to Have a Paso Robles Intimate Wedding
Unsure where to have your special day happen? If you hadn’t considered Paso Robles as your destination, here are 4 reasons why I think you should just go for it:
It has scenic views
Paso Robles is home to scenic views with picturesque wineries, hills, oak trees, and vineyards dotting the landscape. There’s something for everyone and you can choose from small to large outdoor winery settings.
There’s no doubt that these aspects are the perfect ingredients for a natural and romantic backdrop for wedding photos!
The weather makes it romantic
The California coast is no stranger to rainy days. After all, it has a Mediterranean climate which brings mild winters!
On the other hand, it also brings dry and warm summers, so it truly is the perfect destination for an outdoor intimate wedding any time of the year.
Wine and food, I repeat…wine and food
Do I need to say more?
Paso Robles is known for its 200+ wineries. Once you choose a winery for your wedding day, you can incorporate their tastings into your timeline by offering your guests the region’s best.
In addition, you’ll find an array of farm-to-table restaurants for catering so that you can enjoy lunch or dinner during your reception that is locally sourced, fresh and delicious!
It provides an intimate setting for elopements
An intimate wedding allows you to focus on what’s important—you and your partner.
With a small guest list, you can spend more time with your loved ones and enjoy meaningful interactions during your day.
Paso Robles offers a variety of wineries that accommodate smaller weddings and provide the cozy ambience that makes them intimate and memorable.
When To Have Your Paso Robles Intimate Wedding
Overall, the prime time to have your intimate wedding in Paso Robles is between May to October.
This is so that you can best enjoy everything that this destination can offer to you and your guests, such as warm weather that’d let you enjoy the scenery and any outdoor activities you’d like to include in your timeline.
But truthfully, you can host your special day here anytime of the year.
Even during the winter months, you’ll find that this location can create the perfect vibe for a memorable day and if you don’t mind getting a little bit wet, it can create a romantic atmosphere for your wedding photos too.
The key to having a rainy intimate wedding day in Paso Robles is to be prepared by keeping an open mind, bringing umbrellas and adjusting your wedding attire as needed.
